Terms of Use
Effective date: 20 July 2026
Welcome to the Alstonville Wollongbar Chamber of Commerce website ("Website"). By accessing or using this Website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Website.
1. About the Website
The Website provides information about the Chamber, memberships, events, sponsorship opportunities, community markets, business directory listings and other services for the local business community.
2. Changes to these Terms
The Chamber may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Website after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
3. Membership
Submitting a membership application does not automatically create membership. All applications are subject to review and approval by the Chamber committee. Annual membership is $50 per year. Membership fees are processed securely through Stripe. No refunds are provided for cancellations during the membership period.
4. Business Directory
Approved members may have a business directory profile created by the Chamber. Publication is subject to committee approval. Members are responsible for advising the Chamber of any inaccuracies. Directory update requests are reviewed by a committee member before publication. While reasonable care is taken, the Chamber does not warrant that directory information is complete, accurate or current.
5. AI-assisted Content
The Chamber may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with creating business descriptions, categorising businesses, generating summaries and preparing directory content. Members remain responsible for reviewing their listing and requesting corrections where required.
6. Member Access
Where member access is provided using passwordless magic links or similar authentication, members are responsible for keeping those links secure and must not share access with others.
7. Community Markets
Community markets are operated by Alstonville Showgrounds in partnership with the Chamber. The Website accepts enquiries from prospective stallholders. Submission of an enquiry does not guarantee participation or acceptance. All liability related to the operation, management and conduct of community markets remains with Alstonville Showgrounds.
8. Events
Some events may be managed through third-party platforms such as Eventbrite. Separate terms and conditions of those providers may apply.
9. Complaints
Members or Website users who wish to lodge a complaint or dispute regarding the Website, directory content or Chamber services should contact the Chamber President via email at info@alstonvillewollongbar.com.au.
10. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Website content is owned by or licensed to the Chamber. Businesses retain ownership of their logos, photographs and other supplied material while granting the Chamber a non-exclusive licence to display that material for membership, directory and promotional purposes.
11. Acceptable Use
Users must not misuse the Website, attempt unauthorised access, upload malicious software, interfere with Website operation or use the Website for unlawful purposes.
12. Third-party Services
The Website may integrate with third-party services including Stripe. The Chamber is not responsible for the content, privacy practices or availability of third-party services.
13. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the Chamber's Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy laws. The Website uses Google Analytics to track visitor behaviour and usage patterns. This tracking is subject to Google's privacy practices.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Chamber excludes liability for any loss arising from use of the Website, business directory or reliance on Website content. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
