2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with the Chamber, we may collect membership information (business name, contact details, website, business category, description, ABN and membership status), event registration details, newsletter subscription details and limited website usage information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring website.
3. Why We Collect Information
We use your information to manage memberships, process payments and renewals, maintain the Business Directory, register attendees for events, send newsletters and Chamber updates, respond to enquiries, improve our website and services, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes where necessary.
4. Business Directory
One of the benefits of Chamber membership is inclusion in our online Business Directory.
Unless you choose otherwise during the membership process, your business listing may include your business name, logo, website, phone number, business email, business address, business description and business category.
You may request changes to your listing or ask for it to be removed at any time. Only current financial members are displayed. If your membership expires or is cancelled, your listing may be removed. Directory information may be indexed by search engines.
5. AI-Assisted Content
The Chamber may use AI tools to assist with drafting directory descriptions, identifying publicly available business information, assisting with member enquiries and preparing communications. AI-generated content is reviewed wherever practical, and members may request corrections.
6. Payments and Third-Party Services
We work with trusted providers including Stripe (payments), MembershipWorks (membership management), Eventbrite (events), Brevo or another approved email marketing platform (email communications), website hosting providers and analytics services. We do not store your credit card details.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to remember preferences, improve functionality, understand visitor behaviour and measure website performance. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
8. Marketing Communications
If you subscribe to our mailing list or become a member, we may send newsletters, event invitations, Chamber news and member announcements. You may unsubscribe at any time.
9. Security
We use SSL encryption, secure third-party payment processing, access controls for authorised committee members, secure cloud-based systems and regular software updates and maintenance where reasonably practicable.
10. Access and Correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
11. How Long We Keep Information
We retain information only as long as necessary to operate the Chamber and meet legal obligations. Financial and membership records are generally retained for at least seven years where required by Australian law. Former member information may be retained for a reasonable period to manage historical records, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations before being securely deleted or de-identified where appropriate.
