  1. 2007
    First Main Street Christmas Markets & Light-up

    The AWCC organised the first Main Street Christmas Markets and Business Light-up campaign, a tradition that continues to be a highlight of the Christmas season.

  2. 2009
    Main Street upgrade community engagement

    Community engagement meetings with Ballina Shire Council began in early 2009 as the Main Street of Alstonville was upgraded.

  3. 2011
    Bypass celebration & new town signage

    Engagement with the RTA and contractors during bypass construction culminated in a Community Celebration Open Day in mid-2011. The AWCC also worked with local Ballina Shire Councillors to secure new town signage and entry treatments on the bypass at the entry to Alstonville and Wollongbar.

    First Community & Business Awards

    The AWCC Community & Business Awards were first held, open to all community members and businesses on the Plateau regardless of membership status.

  5. 2015
    150 years of settlement celebration

    A year-long series of festivities and community activities celebrated the 150 years of settlement of the Alstonville Plateau, originally known as Duck Creek Mountain. The celebration culminated in a massive street parade with local floats, vintage cars and a bullock team, followed by a Family Festival at the Showgrounds.

    Alstonville Strategic Plan engagement

    The AWCC took an active role in the Ballina Shire Council Strategic Plan for Alstonville, engaging with Council and the community on the future growth and opportunities for the Plateau.

    Reformed the Chamber

    A fresh start for the Alstonville Wollongbar Business Chamber, re-energising advocacy and connection for the plateau.

    Launched Alstonville Community Markets

    The Chamber brings a vibrant monthly market to the heart of Alstonville, showcasing local makers, growers and traders.

  9. 2025
    Return of the Plateau Business Awards

    The Plateau Business Awards return to celebrate outstanding local operators, traders and community champions.

  10. 2026
    Rebranding Chamber

    A refreshed brand identity positions the chamber for its next era of growth and regional partnership.
