Delivers a range of business and innovation grants. Has an easy-to-use website allowing individuals and businesses to search for grants that assist businesses to diversify, expand or improve, or commercialise a technology.

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
Is Australia's official statistics provider. The ABS website contains a wide range of free, objective and accessible statistics that assist businesses to make informed decisions.

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)
Has the responsibility of ensuring that individuals and businesses comply with Australian competition, fair trading and consumer protection laws. The ACCC helps small business understand their rights and responsibilities under the Commonwealth Trade Practices Act, 1974 (TPA).

Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
Enforces and regulates company and financial services law to protect consumers, investors and creditors. ASIC is responsible for ensuring company directors and company officers carry out their duties honestly, diligently and in the best interests of their companies.

Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
Is responsible for the administration of Australia's taxation system including income tax, GST, superannuation and excise. The ATO website provides tax and superannuation information, publications, forms, tools and calculators to help individuals and businesses manage their affairs.

Australian Trade Commission (AusTrade)
Offers a number of customised services to help Australian companies win business and trade overseas. Austrade provides advice on export practice, compliance with foreign regulations and understanding local culture.

Business.gov.au
A Commonwealth Government service providing essential information on planning, starting and running a business. It offers simple and convenient access to government business information, tools and services, for those starting, maintaining, improving or growing a business.

Enterprise Connect
Enterprise Connect has a national network of industry innovation centres staffed by highly skilled Business Advisers that provides access to specialist expertise and the best available technical and business resources to help you transform your business.

IP Australia (IPA)
Provides a strong intellectual property system which promotes innovation, investment and trade. It administers Australia's IP rights system, specifically patents, trade marks, designs.

Northern Rivers Business Enterprise Centre (NORBEC)
Offers free business guidance to get you started in business or to grow your business throughout the Northern Rivers. They also provide regular seminars and workshops.

NSW Business Chamber
Assists businesses of all sizes to manage their people and growth more efficiently. They provide hands-on assistance to identify your workplace challenges and help you sustain and grow your business. On behalf of members, they actively represent the concerns of business at all levels of government as the ‘Voice of Industry’ and can provide information on the regulatory and legislative environment, codes of practice, economic and industry statistics and publications.

NSW Business Licence Information Service (BLIS)
Provides businesses with help in finding information about licences, permits and the other essential documentation required in running a business in NSW.

NSW Dept of Fair Trading
Provides information about acceptable business conduct and behaviour. This where you register a business name and obtain business licences.

NSW Dept of Industrial Relations
Provides businesses with information about pay rates and other conditions of employment in NSW.

NSW Dept of Services, Technology and Administration (DSTA)
A government agency whose role is to make doing business in NSW simple, accessible and fair for employees, consumers and industry while providing best value for government.

NSW Dept of State & Regional Development
Delivers programs and services supporting the NSW Government's commitment to winning new business in NSW. It is committed to developing the capacity and productivity of the State's economy. It provides advice and assistance to help businesses of all sizes establish or expand in metropolitan and regional NSW.

NSW Small Business Development Corporation
Has been established to provide advice to the NSW Minister for Small Business on the special needs of the small business sector. It is part of the NSW Government's strategy to assist small business in the fields of innovation, export support and high-quality information services to increase the skills and knowledge base of business owners and managers.

NSW WorkCover
Works in partnership with the NSW community to achieve safe workplaces. Runs return-to-work programs and provides security for injured workers.
